This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what your rights are. I keep it to the minimum I need.
Who I am
This website is run by Daniel Rees, a web developer based in Kent, UK. I'm the data controller for any personal data collected through it. For any privacy question or request, email danielreeswebdev@gmail.com.
What I collect and why
When you email me
If you get in touch, I'll receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message. I use this only to reply to you and, if we work together, to provide my services. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to your enquiry) or contract (if you become a client). I keep enquiry emails for up to two years, and client records for as long as needed for the work and for accounting (usually six years).
Website analytics (only if you accept)
With your consent, I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site: for example, which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are in the world, the device and browser used, and how you arrived. This helps me improve the site. It does not tell me who you are.
Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you click Accept on the cookie banner. The lawful basis is consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using . Google processes this data on my behalf and may transfer it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. See Google's privacy policy.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site (Krystal Hosting, UK) automatically records basic technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used only for security and to keep the site running, under legitimate interests, and are deleted automatically after a short period.
Fonts
This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them to download the fonts. No cookies are set by this.

This site only sets cookies if you accept analytics.

Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage (dr-cookie-consent), not in a cookie, so the banner doesn't keep reappearing. It never leaves your device.
Who I share data with
I don't sell or rent your data, and I don't share it with anyone except the services that make this site and my business work: my hosting provider (Krystal), my email provider (Google) and, if you've consented, Google Analytics.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you
- ask me to correct or delete it
- object to or ask me to restrict how I use it
- withdraw consent at any time, where I rely on consent
Email me to make a request and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle personal data, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
